Liberta’s Financial Freedom Challenge
Jan 26th, 2009 by huisvrou
For the sake of the other challengers, I will write this page in Afrikaans and English. According to Francois Viljoen from Liberta I must have a reason for wanting Financial Freedom. Why do I want Financial Freedom? Quit a hefty issue.
- Maybe because I have 4 growing children who need to get a proper erudition.
- Maybe because I want to go visit my brother and his family in New Zealand - only I want to take my whole family.
- Maybe simply not to worry about unpaid debts, and unforeseen expenses.
The Liberta meaning for Financial Freedom in short means not having to must work. To have enough money so that it works for you. From here it somehow looks impossible, so much so that I can’t give myself ‘n good reason.
Therefore, at this stage my reason is simply to be able to take my children to the dentist, or the doctor, if need be.
And, along the line, to be able to pay the university fees - but this seems too far.
As for now: I accept the Challenge. I just want to get us out of debt.
Francois sent me a step-by-step plan.
And proposed that I first save for a buffer, just to be able to handle and cope with the unforeseen.
But, as I have witnessed around my kitchen table (for that is how I refer to my blog), God is greater.
The brothers talked. And at long last, for the first time since 2004, we had a salary increase!! And together with it, a once-off payment has been made - as compensation for us women for services rendered in the farming business. (Suppose you can compare it with a 13th cheque.)
Thus, this reserve, this buffer, is God given.
Furthermore I should maybe put my planning here - But that for ‘n next entry.
